There were slightly less dragon appearances than book 1, which I was sad to see, but the turmoil of emotions and problems which Carrie and her friends face kept me from missing the dragon element of the tale. I was glad this installment focused in on a plot part that was touched upon in book 1. Dealing with friendship troubles is hard, and it's only with new experiences that both Carrie and Ivy can figure out how they feel, be honest with themselves and each other. this is a good story. even though it is about children,it was a great adventure story. The teacher is a dragon and the 3 children's lives are turned upside down in each story. I could not put the book down and finished it in a few hours. This is a good stand a lone story,but even better when you read the series. I love that Nan Sweet( a new author to me) puts it all together and puts science fiction in with reality. Real life situations as well as imagination. I recommend this book to adults as

This series is really growing on me. It shows the magical side to things but allows the characters to develop, grow and see the world in a new way. I love the mixture of magic with real world problems. It is a great little read which really highlights the dangers of wishes.
