Book one of the fantasy horror trilogy, with lashings of British humour.
Philip awakes, naked and chained to the floor by wrist and ankle, in the ramshackle dwelling of a family of murderous inbreds. His only hope of rescue lies with Matilda, their hideously deformed and needy daughter, who lurks in the shadows in her bloodied wedding dress. But what will she require of him in return?
Matilda has lived in the darkness all her life. Finally, an Outsider has appeared, a man who - with a little good-natured prodding - can save her from her brutal father and show her what life is like outside the House. Unless, of course, her family snack upon him first.
This dark romance is about unrequited love, uncontrollable yearning and the terrible consequences of accepting a marriage proposal from a creature whose family have chained you to the ground in a dark cellar..
***WARNING: Contains both male and female nudity, fantasy horror, strong language, and scenes of a sexual nature.***

2020 reading challenge ( love gone wrong)Let me begin by saying 5 stars. Best book I had read in a very long time! Thumbs up. I can see why this book is getting bad reviews. The book info warns us it is a comedy. If you take it for the humor it is, and not try to read into the plot too much, you would give it 5 stars also. Yep, most of the characters were mean or stupid or a cannibal. But that gave them character and made them funny. I saw a few holes in the plot. Like, you would marry someone o
I liked the idea of this book, in a twisted fairy tale kind of way and it started off ok, but the further it got into the story, the less interest I had in it. It was written well enough and I don't have any issues with the plot choices or style it was presented in.So why didn't I like it? I hated the characters. Philip is a Class A jerk. The reason he goes back to his girlfriend's house to warn her that there might be perverts lurking around is because if she gets molested, he won't get any sex
It was very funny I enjoyed this more than I thought I would but the first half was funny and witty the other half not so much.....poor Philip and Vincent a good read if u don't mind a naked man running down the street with his bollocks flapping (his words hahaha) ps there's no romance in this book just munchies lol and it's supported to be a weirded fairytail but I don't think so cus I've never heard of anything like it????
