Description

1914. In the quiet Lancashire town of Drayton, the Davenport family harbours dark secrets and simmering tensions. Brothers Charlie and Harry live under the tyrannical rule of their father, Alfie β€” a respected man in public, but a cruel figure behind closed doors. When Charlie suspects Alfie of abusing their vulnerable sister, Lucy, a desperate act of violence shatters their world. As war looms, the brothers bury the truth. But secrets never stay hidden. On the battlefields of the Somme, Charlie finds both love and torment, while Harry is left behind to wrestle with guilt, silence, and the slow unravelling of all they tried to hide. From the still fields of England to the bloody trenches of France, The Sun Will Always Shine is a powerful, deeply emotional story of loyalty, trauma, and the haunting cost of doing the wrong thing for what feels like the right reason. A sweeping tale of love, loss, and redemption set against the unforgiving backdrop of a world at war.

The matters grow worse when the brother
