The story starts in 1914 when we are introduced to the Davenport family who eke out a living on their farm in rural Lancashire. Being a fan of historical fiction genre and after reading “The Absolution of Otto Finkel” I couldn’t wait to read more by John R. McKay, and I couldn’t be happier that I picked up this book. The action in “The Sun Will Always Shine” takes place in pre-war England and tells a story of two brothers, Harry and Charlie, growing up in quite an abusive household, in which their father doesn’t think twice before using force every time his authority is questioned.
