Mind boggling!This novel depicted the horrors of what folks in London went through during World War II. Forced to live in the tunnels while the Germans bombed the City, many died from starvation, thirst, or illness. It is difficult to imagine the horrors of that time, and how many suffered.Miranda, the protagonist, found her life unravel before her. Her husband had abandoned her before she relocated to the tunnels, and her young son was trampled to death by other crazed people being sequestered.
