This one took me awhile to read, not through any fault of the book. I'm not sure why that is, to be honest. anyway, I really enjoyed this book because it was written with *style. The different fonts and interjections are unique and make it much more fun to read. It reminds me somewhat of the way in which House of Leaves is written, in that reading it is somewhat of an experience on top of the story. To a lesser extent, there is no turning the pages sideways in this one, but I truly appreciate th

I enjoyed this creatively creepy, crawly tale that first seemed targeted to the adult version of gross out Fear Factor (not that I watched that show). A financially struggling Courtney seems to be also struggling in most areas except in curiosity, as a low-level journalist. She investigates what seems to be an urban legend, a mysterious Pesticide Man seen around bizarre acting insects. Her first stop is a large apartment building being torn down where a stubborn tenant is refusing to leave. Howe

Straight off the bat! Whatever Johnathan Maas puts out, I’m right on it. His writing style is hard to pin down and label. He switches between science fiction and philosophy seamlessly. With a style that reminds me of Dan Simmons and Charles Palahniuk. Year of the Spider had me gripped from the start and is an excellent addon to the #EOTW collection. I may have to sleep with the lights on after reading this one. A solid five stars from me.
