I think this mystery was unique in many ways. The name “Plastic House” sucked me in and the cover is also well-done. The idea of a home being completely decorated in resin by its previous, now missing owner is so cool. There were also some magical and supernatural elements that I really liked. I just think this could be so much more developed! I want to know more about the art, the artist, all of the characters, and especially the supernatural elements. I feel like those weren’t explained. The Lost Lake Mysteries: Plastic House by Tricia Arnold.The premise of this book was intriguing, however the end result is a mishmash. This story does not flow. It is very simplistic with no real understanding that to tell a story, you need to engage the reader. It is not enough to put the characters in situations and hope that this will make a great story. There is the cozy mystery element, paranormal element and a hint of insta-love/romance. The characters are just there to provide some sort o

I don't think this novella really knows what it wants to be. It's part cozy mystery, part supernatural (which was extremely jarring, it felt very out of place), and part... something else. Omniscient POV is difficult to pull off, and I'm not sure this managed it. I got a chuckle out of Cody Rhodes though.
