Torn between a quiet life and the chaos of unexpected love, Private Investigator Chad Briggs is set to find out if a snowstorm can melt his heart in Laketown. When Hope, the all too attractive—and far too young—woman next door, Chad’s life is thrown into a whirlwind he would rather not face, but he doesn’t have much of a choice.Trying to navigate her new life after unexpectedly gaining custody of her dead sister’s kids, Hope knows she shouldn’t be interested in her much older neighbor, no matter how easy he is on the eyes. But when a snowstorm traps them together in one house, can they ignore the sparks between them? With every reason to think a relationship is impossible, especially with the kids in the mix, they know a weekend fling isn't going to end well. But their hearts didn't get the memo, and they might be in too deep to back out.Books in the Love in Sun City series are tied together and overlap but can be read in any order or as standalones. They contain minimal to no swearing and no explicit content.
Ummmmm, this book is HILARIOUS!!!!I am such a fan of Dana LeCheminant's writing. It's always witty and the banter and flirt game in each contemporary she writes is so strong. If you want to be entertained...The Chad Next Door is for you!First of all, the names in this (nicknames and given names) are comedic gold! The embarrassing situations are hilarious to read about and I love how the characters roll with it. These two main characters are some of my favorite I've ever read about!I loved the si
“Hope is not a puzzle that needs solving. She’s a problem I need to avoid.”Chad “Grizz” is a grump on vacation and a literal run-in with his ray of sunshine new neighbor, Hope, in the hardware store made me realize this book was going to be everything I love in a RomCom.Things I loved:🍁Duke the golden retriever (obviously)🍁the wolverine/badger🍁Hank the writer🍁the SWOON, wit, banter🍁name calling–old man, Bigfoot🍁the snowstorm and dance party🍁age gap🍁the undeniable, magnetic, off-the-chart
