A cosy mystery set in a small town by the coast, Seabreeze is home to a lot of small businesses, but it has a habit of being the place where murders occur. Rue runs the bookshop for her Grandmother, who is off on a world tour; along with Gatsby her dog, Ollie and Beasley her cats and Zeke, the shop parrot, Rue is liked and respected among the community. She gets involved in solving the murders which occur, partly because she usually knows the victim and wants justice, but also, she wants to help

Continues Rue's adventures around the Seabreeze bookshop.I can't unread all the previous books in this entertaining series. I think it would work as a standalone, but the reader would miss out on the subtleties of who Rue's allies and obstacles are and her history with them as well as her menagerie of pets.I have removed a star from this enjoyable, quick, easy and entertaining read because the blurb tells too much and doesn't live up to the promise of keeping you guessing until the end. Business sales are not the only thing to be rising due to the online presence for Rue. Her blood pressure is too, so when she finally visits her doctor only to find the less than organized receptionist poisoned a week later, she finds another murder mystery is not what the doctor ordered. Does it have to do with a philandering boss or a misunderstanding that led to grave consequences? Another page turner from Brooke that leaves you wanting more.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout
