The author of this volume of railroad stories is just the person to write such a book. He grew up in a railroad family in a center for railroading, and over the years he met conductors, engineers, brakemen and more from all possible railroad-related jobs. He writes from a standpoint of personal and extensive knowledge, and he shares that knowledge in these stories. One of my favorites was a story about the connection between refrigerated railroad cars and the invention of TV dinners.
