Last year, I thoroughly enjoyed Susan Harper's Caribbean Cruise Cozy mystery collection so much that I put her on my radar as an author to watch. That was clearly premature. My disappointment in Granny Vigilante is so profound that I am tempted to give it a one-star review and lambast the author for treating murderous police turned vigilante as a silly, comedic story-device. I thought the idea of a Granny turned vigilante as amusing, but when it is revealed that she is a former police detective,

An rouge retired ex detective out to seek justice, an mute detective that speaks through drawings, a anxiety nervous officer that normally sits behind a computer screen get thrown into a case.

Granny Vigilante Boxed SetThe characters in this series are fun and challenging toward one another. Fran is an elderly woman looking for a room mate and Ronnie is a highly anxious policeman. The secrets that the characters keep get them into trouble. This series is a fun quick read. I truly enjoyed it and look forward to reading additional books by this author.
