Fireflies

This is a super cute children's illustrated book that puts a twist on fireflies. The illustrations are nice and simple, without being boring. Without a doubt little girls are likely to adore this; but I would definitely purchase it for boys as well as fairies (aka fireflies) don't have to be 'girly'. This is a nice story with a surprising twist at the end. The bond between the sisters is well-written and I like how they care for the creatures in the story instead of torturing them or killing them. The ending of the story is a bit abrupt. The book is good for beginner chapter readers as the content and language are very basic and easy to understand. The illustrations add to the charm. What a beautiful story! About two sisters and their parents who are going to visit a relative. But Caitland loves to collect bugs, and as they are on a ferry the mom suggests it is time to let the ladybugs go. That is done with no issues, but as the sisters finish letting the ladybugs go, they notice beautiful lights which they assume are fireflies but upon a closer look after catching a few they notice they are not gireflies, but faeries!
