Cassidy is a witch in a small town called Clockview, one of the last places in the world where witches live. Cassidy runs an inn, and like everyone else in Clockview she’s terribly excited about the most important night of the year, which is coming soon.
The Night of Spirits and Phantoms has been taking place every summer for as long as Cassidy can remember. It’s a witch celebration, but the humans in Clockview don’t know that. This year there’s a murder as the big night approaches, and on the night of the murder, a knock-your-socks-off-handsome stranger comes to stay at the inn.
Cassidy investigates the murder against her family’s wishes and discovers that the killer is no one she ever suspected, someone willing to risk the death of all witches in pursuit of a particular goal. Along the way Cassidy discovers that young witches have power beyond what she thought possible, and that you can solve the crime if you just put your mind to it.

Cassidy has a full inn due to the coming festival, she is really excited for the upcoming events. Cassidy even books a room that noone ever wants. Cassidy meets the guest that is there, Cassidy can't help but appreicate his looks and the way he is. When there is a murder, someone she knows is a suspect. Cassidy decides to that she needs to look into it. Something bigger is happening Cassidy and her friends will have to figure out before everything is lost. This was a good first book in series. Yo
