Description

The Tenth Annual National Sand Sculpture Competition was being held at Crystal Shores!

It might have been the Tenth Annual Competition, but it was the first time it was being hosted by the tiny town of Crystal Shores and new Mayor Peter Parker and Council Member Lizzie Halpern were Co-Chairpersons of the wildly popular event.

Local developer Otis O'Reilley decided to make a real splash and bring in a famous Australian Sand Artist so he’d win the $10,000 Prize for the best commercial sculture. Not to be outdone, rivals Pacifica Developments hired local sculptor Manny Greenwell to design and build their entry to beat Otis.

Award-winning sand artists from around the country who’d come to Crystal Shores had their own ideas about who was going to win, and competition promised to be fierce.

After all, there was more than one $10,000 prize available, and the best entry would probably win two of them, not to mention a Silver Cup and bragging rights!

Some people were determined to win, by fair means or foul.

It was up to Police Chief Thea Monroe and her Acting Detective Jeff Dooley to make sure everything stayed trouble free.

$10,000 was a lot of money -- enough for somebody to decide to trash the competition so they could win!

Who was it? Police Chief Thea Monroe had an idea, but she had to prove it.

Stories are good with good characters but All those misplaced words are a terrible distractionI sorta enjoyed the tales and the people but she needs a much better team or program to catch all the typos , not so much misspelled words as wrong words and extra words ; to instead of it, double "all" really so many it stopped me from going forward, I'd like to continue the series, but won't because of all the mistakes, shame really, decent writer.

A fun book with interesting charactersThe story moves at a fast pace. There are so many characters it is difficult to keep them all straight. And the premise of the book is a great one. The warmth and reception of the folks of Crystal Shores made me want to visit. Congrats to the author!

A fun summer at the shore storyA major sand art competition comes to Crystal Shores and the competition heats up quickly. The first two days go well but then the night before the finals someone vandalizes two of the contest entries. A fun read with a surprise ending.
