Liverpool 1904 Sarah is madly in love with William and cannot see the darker side of his character. When he leaves her penniless with two young children, she is at her wits end. Then she meets Joe Micklethwaite who saves them from the workhouse.
Set in and around Liverpool in the early 1900's, Sarah's Dream tells the story of Sarah Lewis. When her cad of a husband leaves her, Sarah and her two young children are left destitute. Luckily, she meets a young man, Joe, who loves and cares for her and takes both Sarah and her children in.This is a well-written story of a woman in a world where women had very little rights. It has been well researched and the author is excellent with her description of life in those days. The pacing is steady a
Enjoyable ReadThis is a good story and told well. It is the first I've read by this author and look forward to reading more. Her descriptions of the characters made them come alive. Sarah lived through hard circumstances because of her evil husband, but others in her life brought her joy. I loved Joe and his kindness. Sally was adorable and I always love a happy ending.
Captivating and very well written storyI read the entire book in one sitting. It's such a lovely story of a young woman, her family and their adventures, a lot of happy moments but also heartaches and drama. I can truly recommend this book.
