In this hard-to-put-down novelette, Pulitzer Prize winning Photojournalist Thomas Atwood is on a spellbinding quest that leads him from 1940's war-torn England to a modern-day mystery woman with a key to the past. His brush with the supernatural on abandoned RAF airfields across England leads him on a shocking and deeply personal journey of discovery. A heart-warming story of love and sacrifice that transcends time. Story inspired by the photography of Lee Hellwing.

"This is storytelling at its best! The elements of history, mystery and the paranormal lured me in and didn't let me go until the very last word. For such a quick read, I feel very connected to the characters. I like that in a book!" - By Kindle Customer
" ...I downloaded and read this novelette this morning after reading the description and being intrigued with it since photography, WW II history (British in particular), and RAF history are interests of mine. Though the story is short, being a novelette, it is nicely told and I felt as if I were among those on the plane listening to the narrator's story and picturing the settings he was describing. I can admit to tearing up and grinning as well more than once." - By Angela Anderson-Cobb
"... It has history, romance and a bit of the paranormal. If you are in doubt about the book, please give it a try. You have nothing to lose and I think you will enjoy it. I read it in one sitting, couldn't put it down once I started.I am not usually into much paranormal but this time it worked for me. My husband and I lived in the UK for two years when he was in the USAF and this story brought back many memories for me. If I had a complaint it would be that it ended too soon. :) Great writing Kurt, keep 'em coming." - By Janice E. Reinhart
In my pursuit to find something different to read I happen upon this novelette on Amazon by Kurt Zimmerman. The story has elements that are sure to please a wide audience including those of the paranormal, a sacrificial love that surpasses time itself with a hint of mystery which are dear to me. The interwoven bits of history should appeal to those who are history buffs.I found the authorβs style of writing one that hooks its readers making it somewhat difficult not to stop turning pages until th
Excellent short story about a ghost, mysterious locket, universal love, and a photographer who brings it all together. Very well done.
A heart-warming story of the unexpected. Not sure how the author managed to give the characters such depth whilst spinning such a poignant and intriguing story in so few pages, but, impressively, he did. Superbly done. No hyperbole. A deft hand at work here.
