Dark and twisted. The Vigil is not for the faint of heart. Sandrine accomplished her mission: creating a psychological thriller that has you asking questions at the end. It was shocking, memorable, and the writing was solid. If you're into dark fiction, this story is for you.
Sandrine B.'s writing pulled me into The Vigil immediately. The prose is atmospheric and skillful, creating genuine claustrophobic dread as Helen counts down her final hours in a locked basement during a heatwave. The premise is chilling, and the mysterious figure who appears in the doorwayâsilent, watchingâcreates haunting psychological tension.However, I couldn't give this five stars because the story needed more space to fully realize its potential. Helen deserved deeper character development
Short and Psychological The Vigil by Sandrine B. was quite a short and psychological read. It was an unfortunate circumstance of a young woman kidnapped during a natural disaster and left on her own in a captive situation. Sadly the story starts at the end when she is reasoning why she is being held captive. She goes through emotions of fear, anger, sadness and finally acceptance. She understands at the end that she will die, from dehydration, was assumed at the end. An unknown figure stood Vigi
