I'm throwing in the towel at 43%. The internal monologues on every single page are killing me. No joke. Half the book comprises of these characters basically talking to themselves. Add to that the douchecanoe parade of players. The asshole husband and bitchy wife. The slimy guy and girl conveniently trying to destroy their sham of a marriage. And don't even get me started on the twin girls. Holy shit. If my kids ever spoke the way these two kids do, I would run away screaming. So unrealistic
3☆It took a long time to get past the romantic/lustful behaviors of the main couple, Bill and Karen Anderson, to get to the suspenseful terror. I was disappointed that so much of the book focused on the couple's affairs and not on the dark legends, how their twins could have explored the contents of a hidden box and how ancient markings in their houses foundation got there. So many eerie and strange things to expand on and yet the majority of the book focused on forbidden romance. Ugh. Once the
