This book was not as funny as other books from this author, but it was still an amazing story. A pandemic hits Earth with Zombies, and our hero is a soldier protecting people when aliens arrive and recruit to help save the galaxy, and something happens and he ends up alone, because humanity is destroyed.
The story centers around Major Ethan Irons, he and his wife, Joyce, and young son, Jaime live in a settlement in North America. Most of humanity is gone, governments have fallen, and the survivors live in protected settlements from REVs, zombie-like creatures that literally appeared overnight across the globe.
