I love Gundam, so I gave this book a shot. Clearly the author is a super fan too. In fact, this never truly deviated from the common Gundam premise. It was almost beat for beat what I'd expect from a show with the exception of a teenaged protagonist. Gundam also has more meaningful deaths in combat. This book had every named character shrouded in plot armor until almost the final pages. Even then, most people survived what should have been mortal wounds; the kind one would expect from giant blad
