Description

Our tale begins in a cupboard under the stairs where we find Frank, the leading lady of the story in hiding from someone she would rather not bump into at the moment. You see Frank has managed to get herself into a bit of trouble. People always told her she had a strange sense of humour but in her wildest dreams she never imagined it would get her into this much bother. What began as an innocent jokey conversation in her local paper shop has turned into something far more sinister. At first Frank tries to convince herself that what’s happening is nothing more than a string of coincidences. As time goes on though and the body count starts to rise she has to finally face the fact that maybe she’s the cause of everything that’s happening. Before long she finds herself getting deeper and deeper and she can’t seem to find a way to get herself out of this nightmare. She’s lying to the police and leaping out of her skin every time the doorbell rings. You see, Frank doesn’t want anyone asking too many awkward questions, and she has a good reason for that. As she says at the beginning of our story………. “I never intended for anyone to die, I just wanted to pay my paper bill.”

Reader Reviews

★★★★★Janice Rizzo

Alex Cotton is definitely my new favourite author. After reading her five "autobiographical" books I was hooked on her writing style, her honesty and sense of humour. Of course I went searching for any more books by her and found Deadly Misunderstandings. This book was full of humour once again and I honestly felt like it was a continuation of her life. Hilarious and a book everyone has to read. Hurry up and write more, Alex. I'm waiting.

FunnyThis book starts with our heroine in the cupboard under the stairs., One mishap after another and Frank (who is female) goes from one disaster after another. Very funny and enjoyable . Give it a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

★★★★★Margaret Taylor

This book would make a good filmI couldn't stop reading this book. It sounded too far-fetched, but life is like that. I loved all the characters and the twists and turns, and everything was neatly tied up in the end.I hope Alex Cotton has written more stories like this one.
