Description

("Shelter in Place" is the first book in the "Pandemic Diary" series)

It can’t happen. Our society is too civil, our civilization too advanced, our technology too developed for a breakdown of law, order, government, and our way of life.

At least that’s what we tell ourselves so we can sleep at night.

But it can happen, and now it has happened. A pandemic far deadlier than any virus the world has ever seen is spreading. And it’s putting its predecessors – SARS, bird flu, Ebola, even Spanish Influenza and the Plague – to shame.

Experience this pandemic and its terrible effects first hand through the eyes of a family doing its best just to survive.

Hate Cliffhanger Endings I enjoyed the book right up till the last chapter or so. I hate books that rely on a cliffhanger ending as opposed to being able to stand on it's own. In my opinion a well written book should have the ability to stand on it's own with an ending that not only gives a sense of closure to this story but also leaves the possibility of more to come without relying upon it.

This is a second series set in the world of the dreaded SuFlu pandemic. In the first series we see John try to gather all his loved ones together and flee the oncoming virus. His cousin Chris never shows up and this series tells the story of Chris and his family in the form of diary entries. I admit that I'm not normally a fan of this format of book as it can take away the tension of situations by telling the reader about what happened after the event. However I did actually like this one.Chris

3.5 starsI downloaded this book on Kindle UnlimitedThis is the first in a three book series about a pandemic, the Su Flu. It is told in diary format, the diarist (Chris) being an every-day sort of guy in his thirties, living in Chicago with his wife and two kids. I wasn't sure about it at first; I liked the writing style, but one aspect was badly thought out: he and his wife watch the news about the flu and the increasing panic on TV news, but no reference is made to social media. No mention of
