Fruit of the Spirit Bible Study. Book Four: Fruit of Joy. Cultivating Joy in our Hearts.I have been told that I have the fruit of joy welling up inside me. Unfortunately, I do not see it and found this to be my most challenging fruit to write about—so far…Simply because I do not see joy evident in my heart and mind. I want to see it manifested in my life. When I think of joy, I think of freedom, happiness, laughter and a carefree spirit. I do not see this in my own walk. However, I want to! So, join me on the journey to finding joy…But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. - Galatians 5:22-23 The original Greek word for joy is chara (khar-ah) and is used 59 times in the New Testament. It means: cheerfulness, calm delight, gladness, be exceedingly joyful...
Very practical, concise and easy to follow. One key takeaway that impacted me from this reading was that "joy" is a gift from God. Imagine giving a gift to someone and they just throw it back to your face. Joy encompasses our God, He shares it with each of us if we let Him. So let's receive and share it. Looking forward to read the other books in this series.
