I have read other books by Rebecca Forster. I love her style, and the intrigue she puts into her characters and stories. But I will cry from the roof tops, Beyond Malice is one of the finest murder mysteries I have ever read!We start with the premise. It is the year 1892 in San Francisco, Walter Dimsdale and Franklin Morris establish a Law Partnership of Dimsdale and Morris. This books starts out with an introduction of a “good old boys” legal firm where women are still the “little ladies” who are secretaries’ and second class citizens. When one of the partner’s wife is murdered; the mistress of a partner, the only female associate of the firm is arrested. Her sister, Amanda must step in to help her, but her legal skills are not quite up to par. This book started out good, and just got better as I read it.
